Hi,

I have just bought the SysOn CF card, iPAQ 2210 and TomTom3.
Immediatelly after installing TT3, I inserted the GPS and it started to search.

I then installed the TT3.01 update.

Now the SysOn card just stays on RED.

I have read ALL of the articles in this forum and am still stuck.

I have folowed Dave's excellent "Tweaking and Testing your GPS Receiver" article and can only go so far......

When I try to open the Port Settings screen in Winfast Navigator, I get an ERROR! - Could not find value! popup box. If I OK the box, it comes up a further two times before allowing me into the Port Settings screen.
Then no matter what settings I enter, nothing ever comes up on the Developemnt screen.

Does this sound like the card is stuffed, or is there anything else I can do.

cheers

You will need to uninstall the TomTom ~ GPS in Remove Programs, soft reset and this should resolve the problem.

I had already hard reset (removing all programs including TomTom) before installing Winfast Navigator.

Any other suggestions?

Yes, but you still have TomTom installed so you need to unisntall TomTom ~ GPS. This blocks access to other programs and screws around with the port assignments and will stop the SysOnChip working unless you can work out what COM port it's using.

Uninstall TomTom ~ GPS and then allow it to soft reset like it will tell you on screen.

Dave, I'm sorry, and I know I it all sounds easy, but it still doesn't work.

I have removed TomTom ~GPS, in fact I have even performed a hard reset on the iPAQ, loaded the Winfast Navigator from a different PC which has never had any Tomom software installed - and I still get the same results.

Inserting the SysOn card does give a pop-up stating Device plug-in! COM7, so that agrees with all the other articles that COM7 is correct on the 2210, but as soon as you enter Port Settings - I get the Error! Could not find value! three times, and NEVER get anything in the development screen.

I bought this from a guy in Germany on ebay - so not sure how I stand on warranty if it is really stuffed.

Again, any further info you could add would be most appreciated.

regards

Have you tried connecting on the other comm ports? For some reason, and I know this goes against all the documentation, I was able to use the Winfast Navigator and connect to the sysonchip cf plus on comm1.

Tried all possible ports and baud rates.
Going to try on a completely different 2210 tomorrow and see what happens there.

Now tried on a couple of other 2210s and get exactly the same results.
In fact, I have tried running Winfast Navigator on a 4150 (which has no GPS attached) and I get exactly the same results. ie 3 x Error-Could not find value, and absolutely nothing in the diagnostic screen.

Must be a stuffed card - hope I can find somewhere to send for warranty otherwise its heading towards the wastebin.

Anyway....many thanks to you all for your help.
