Yes, I downloaded them from TomTom website, and installed them using TomTom HOME, but I can't see them in the map folder, should they be visible, as OV2 files, the only OV2 files I can see is the safty camera files, so I wondered, has it transfered them? _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Yes Tanda they should be visible in Windows Explorer (they WON'T in Home).
Here's mine:
Contents of C:\Documents and Settings\Andy\My Documents\TomTom\TomTom Backups Go720-xxxxxxxxx\Complete Dump 2007_11_10 (v7.210)\Western_Europe
Filename Size
GB_Pharmacy.inf 13 bytes
GB_Pharmacy.ov2 500.80 KB
GB_Police_Stations.inf 13 bytes
GB_Police_Stations.ov2 40.33 KB
gbr_dentists.inf 11 bytes
gbr_dentists.ov2 305.03 KB
gbr_doctors.inf 13 bytes
gbr_doctors.ov2 888.90 KB
So it looks like you haven't installed them.
the ov2 is an encrypted POI file (like the TT camera files POI Edit cannot open it), and the inf file is a short text file that tells the Go which built-in category to "attach" them to.
You won't see them as seperate POI categories on the Go either, but there are plenty of entries, so you sould see loads near you.
Not sure what's gone wrong, try d.loading and installing again? |

Been messing with the TomTom, and the POi's won't transfer accross to the TomTom, even downloaded/installed the Free England colour scheme, that transfers ok, and works, but the POi's won't, so had a read of the 1st page of this thread, and transfered them manually, and it all works now, thanks for everyone's help. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Your map folder, the same place as the speed camera files from here (If you use the sites database). _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Make sure that you extract the .ov2 and .inf files from the .cab files inside those folders by following Andy's instructions on the 1st page of this thread.
Then drag and drop the .ov2 files and .inf files to the map folder on your tomtom. It won't work if you just drag and drop the folders that Andy mentions into your map directory. |

I have the same problem. Nearest pharmacy I think was in Scotland (a mere 295 miles away), and police station I think was in Northern Ireland. Strange.
And is it right that there is nothing in the "first aid information" option? |

Have you tried the same solution?
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=7892&Lid=1
If you can't get it to work, tell us exactly what goes wrong.
First Aid and other "Help me" files haven't been released for download by TomTom. No one knows why. Complain to them (although they will just sent one of their usual "stock" answers telling you that they aren't available (which you knew already), without telling you why. |
