Am I thick? I dont think I am, but I am lost with all this.
I registered with Tom Tom to email me when the map share was available for TT go 910. Got me mail and went TT to download. Launched TT Home and connected 910. (ignore TT Home new version available)
check for updates and download. Install to TT? yes pls!
reccomend a back up. OK! (20 mins)
install OS upgrade. Re-connect and reboot 910.OK
Please restart TT Home for full functionality. OK
Update to new version of TT Home .....grrrrr OK...
Right - now lets see what hapens!
you will have to install updates for map share to function. but I did that? OK
reccomend you back up before install. I did! hang on, ill check. back up(s) have been deleted.
Make Back up - OK (20 mins. Start drinking beer)
Install OS. Ok
Restart 910. OK!
Launch Map Share - your map is not compatible with blah blah blah.
Go to map download. I do special price for you. AAGGGHHHHHH!
Buy a new version of the map I already have but enabled for Map Share with 12 month subsription.
12 months? I thought it was free functionality?
go to PC world to buy new lap top as I just smashed keyboard with fist.
ON TT website, before all this, I could not find ny details on pricing or subscription. Am I thick? I think so......... ;o(
Anyway, I 'm back to driving through field where nice new bypasses have been built. When I come up against road blocks, Im back to making random route changes until TT finds a way round it. Is it me??????

For MapShare to function you need to have the v7 maps. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

With my pedant's hat on, you need 2007 maps. 675.xxxx is a 2007 v6 map which works with MapShare. Although I'm sure that TomTom wouldn't try to sell you a 675 map now that the 710 ones are available! (Where's that tongue-in-cheek smiley when I need it?) _________________ Tim |

My 910 works okay with mapshare with it's 675 maps I bought this year.
Now I wish I had never bought my new 520

Map Share™ updates from others are free but will stop after a year. A quote from the Tom Tom Map Share web page HERE follows for your info:
Quote: | For each map, we generate and update a database of map corrections for up to one year. After one year, this database will no longer be updated with new map corrections, but can still be downloaded by anyone using that map version. In order to continue receiving new map corrections you will be asked to purchase a new map version which already contains the corrections reported by you and other users previously, as well as the changes made by the map provider. |

How can they stop mapshare updates, when they have not started yet? _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,
