Hi,

The posts on the revised TMC receiver for Tomtoms are getting exceedingly long.

I thought I'd create this post solely for listing how you have you receiver fitted in your windscreen to help others. It appears to me that the positioning of the receiver is ultra important.

To start the ball rolling, I have a Ford S-Max and I have the receiver running all along the bottom of the windscreen, exactly as TT say to not have it!!! I've only had it for a couple of days so I am going to experiment with this. From Gloucestershire to Slough today, I had a green circle showing for most of the way. Only really lost it around J14-J12 on the M4.

If you can contribute to this post to help others, please do.

Good idea for a thread, let's hope it doesn't go O/T

I've got a Renault Espace with the TT postion on the front quarter light. All comparisms are with a modified unit connected to my normal car aerial.
I first tried the cable up the quarter light and along the top of the windscreen, with patchy results. Then I tried it with the cable running across the dashboard to the screen, up the screen about 2" away from the pillar (not pretty), and the remainder across the top of the screen This was much better. I'm now going to try and arrange it so that the final part of the cable is vertical and try that.
