On the way to Cornwall this week my new Navman F50- with traffic module- informed me that the A38 ahead was down to one lane and that there was a traffic jam.
Great, I thought, since I had set my preferences to automatically re-route me I'd be prompted to take a new route to avoid this.
Except I was just routed by the sat-nav to the traffic jam.
2 hours.
Could anybody tell me if the system really does what it claims to do - automatically re-route- or if I've just spent £200 on a system that can't really crack it in the real world.
Or is there something I should have done that I didn't do.
Thanks in advance.

Hi echo801

There are three options to choose from, one of which is to automatically reroute you, which it sounds like you have already selected.

However you will only be rerouted if the person who sets the warning suggests it. Don't loose faith as I have been routed round countless traffic events, weather they be there or not, but occationally the reports may suggest that the traffic is not severe enough for a need to reroute.

I believe the wording on the box is, reroute if recommended.

If you were there for two hours then it may have been reported incorrectly so I suggest you post this observation here.
