iCN630 - UK v USA

I've been nearly buying an iCN630 for weeks, but always looking for the best deal ... just as I was about to make the purchase, a friend of mine mentioned he was coming over from the States and asked if I wanted anything ... the iCN630 is a mere $699 (£370) in the jolly old USofA.

Will the US version of this product be completely useless, or should I consider it ?

I'm not sure where I'd stand with the V2 software release either ?

I'm not sure about the US version as this isn't something I've tried but someone else may be able to tell you here on the forums.

I would think that if you wanted the V2 software that you would have to contact Navman direct, and it's really down to their discretion on whether they want to issue new V2 software for the UK to a US based serial number.

If it's just UK maps you are really after then the iCN620 may be better, but you won't get the V2 software.
