Removing top direction panel

Hi

I've just bought an O2 XDA Orbit to replace my phone and Navman Pin570.

CoPilot seems pretty good, but I can't work out how to remove the direction panel at the top of the screen.

I mainly have the copilot showing me a map, with no destination set. This is useful for camera alerts and working out where that next turning goes. The top panel takes up a third of the map with the message "Enter a stop for route guidance". The map would be so much bigger if this panel was missing, any ideas?
