navman icn550 and tmc module aerial

just got a 550 going cheap from maplin (£120) ideal for me as im going to france this weeekend with all european maps included and also brought a tm550 traffic module for £40. fitted the tmc with supplied wire aerial and no signal watsoever. rooted around the loft and found an old magmount aerial i had from being a cabbie and and nipped to maplin and got a 2.5mm jack plug £1.25 and loosly connected the wire as i have no soldering iron. turned the unit on and bang 99 alerts in 10 seconds.run the cable around the car totally out of sight not looking stupid like the supplied wire. result!!!!! euro satnav with tmc £160 quid
