This is a question for owners of the Navman T1 traffic unit.
I have just brought a T1 from Amazon VERY cheaply.
I now know why it was so cheap......it came without a power lead or an aerial.
The aerial is not really needed as I am going to go the Maplin magmount / Garmin adaptor route with that ( thanks to everybody on this forum for that info ).
But I do need to get power to it somehow.
Does anybody know where I can get a power lead for my T1 or can anyone suggest an " alternative " power lead I can buy ?
I have'nt even seen what it looks like so i have'nt got a clue what I'm looking for.
Any help would be appreciated ( and is much needed ) !!!

Instead of pluging the main GPS power lead into the gps Unit itslef, plug it into the T1 which will inturn power the GPS unit through its connection.

The connectors are different.
The one into the T1 is like a jack plug but the one into my F20 is "different" ( and very hard to explain ).
Is there an adaptor that I can buy that can change from one fitting to the other ?
I am just thinking aloud now and have no idea what I am actually saying

Your right they are different, you get an adaptor when you buy the T1 to make charger compatible with it . The charger is a usb cable type .

Do you know if I can buy this USB type of adaptor from anywhere else ( Maplins , CPC , etc ) ?
Is it a USB connection or is like the other end of the F20 Connectivity Kit lead ? ( I don't know any other way of explaining it )

You could ask the Navman for advice to sort it out to help your problem in good faith Smile

Or try go to Halfords shop to ask for advice there.

Navman open on Monday to Friday at 8.30am to 5.30pm

Tel number - 01293 780500

Website www.navman.europe.co.uk

Good luck Thumbs Up

P.S - I has got Navman N60i gps satnav Rolling Eyes

As has already been said, phone Navman. The connection on the F20 is a mini-usb which is common, used by Garmin and Motorola on some of their mobiles. When you buy the T1 you normally get a little adapter so you can use the power lead that came with the F20.

I don't know how helpful Navman will be ( seeing as I did'nt buy the T1 from them or one of their suppliers ).
I thought that I had had a right result buying it for the price I did , but I
know why now ( no power adaptor or aerial ).
This really has come back and bit me in the ar@e !!!

Yep , it's official....... I have done my money !!!
I emailed EVERY online Navman supplier I could find over the weekend and I've come home from work today to a long list of emails all saying the same thing.
Power adaptors or aerials for the T1 are not available seperately.
The only one who came back with a suggestion was Handtec who offered this as a suggestion:

http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=439&xSec=21

I don't think these have the right connection for the T1 though.

My only hope now is from Navman themselves ( who I have yet to hear back from ) and the gentleman / ladies that frequent this forum.
I am still hoping that somebody knows somewhere that I can purchase the adaptor required so that I can power up my T1.
( Bit hard to type this with all my fingers crossed )

I don't think that 3 in 1 will do the job.

Have you tried connecting the traffic pack to your Navman and connecting the in car power lead to the Navman as normal? Does it power up the traffic pack aswell? I've looked at a number of sellers and none of them list a power lead in the box. I would have thought that the makers of Navman would have integrated both together requiring only one power lead??

No , I have tried that , but the F20 does'nt recognise that the T1 is there , so I can only assume that there is no power getting to the T1.
I have had no joy from any third party supplier , my only hope now rests with Navman ( who I am waiting to hear from ).
This is doing my head in Grrrr Crying

The lead you need is the iCN6xx one, but it is £20 from the Navman Store. Here is a third party one which should be compatible.

I've got my old 610 sitting here next to me in a box.
Do you think that it's power lead will power up the T1 OK ? ( I don't want to fry it )
Mind you , I might as well give it a go , it does'nt look like I can get the proper power lead anyway................ Wish me luck !

Just check the outputs of the two leads you have. You don't actually get a power lead with some of the T1 modules, you just get an adapter to change it from mni USB to 3mm or whatever size it is. I have various Navman leads and apart from the mini USB ones, the only different one is the iCN550, which is slightly smaller than the others.
