It adds phonebook download. | Problem is, it works on Nokia car kits, and it works on Parrot car kits, but most other car kits, especially car manufacturer car kits don't seem to even like this program. Given the Nuvi is based on Parrot technology, it should work in this one case... _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Well. I can guarantee that it works in my case (Nuvi 660 with Nokia N95).
However I have discovered that although previously you used to get the call list downloaded from the phone, a previous poster is now correct in that the last called list is no longer downloaded, it just shows calls made from the Nuvi itself...
If no calls have been made it complains that this function is not supported by the phone (! It certainly worked previously). |

dgbisset wrote: | Hi,
Currently have a Nuvi 660 and Samsing D900 mobile.
Bluetooth worked fine up until a few days ago. Now when the Nuvi finds the phone and connects then, after about 10 seconds the Nuvi disables bluetooth. I try re-enabling but the unit just seems to hang for ages.

I get exactly the same with my Nokia 6290. Phone is shown as bluetooth connected but bluetooth logo disappears from Garmin screen
Was fine until yesterday and now behaves as dgbisset's problem.
Has anyone asked Garmin about this specific problem? _________________ Nick Russell

Try removing the phone from the nuvi BT list and "re-installing" it. It sounds like something got changed somewhere along the line. _________________ Phil |

Tried that - problem still the same.
I just think it's a bit odd that I get exactly the same problem as OP had with his Samsung phone. This suggests to me it may be a nuvi BT software problem. I seem to remember this has been recently updated. _________________ Nick Russell

Ah - so that's what changed
Don't know if you can de-install / re-install older version to at least some form of working system.
I have done the BT update and get the same facilities on my Nokia N80 (i.e. a basic hands free with some contact synch) and a still perfectly working 6310 - which I tend to use most of the time now.
I would report it to GARMIN - they may not be able to do too much - but if no-one tells them they won't do anything. _________________ Phil |

An update to my problem...
Contacted Garmin support. They were very helpful and I'm still in correspondence with them. I have now also tried a SE K800i and Nokia 6310i but same problem.
I think this is an issue with BT software or faulty unit. _________________ Nick Russell

After further conversations with Garmin. Tried a hard reset and fresh web update of software. Still no good so unit being returned to Garmin under guarantee. Will report more later. _________________ Nick Russell

Final update? I returned the unit under warranty and it was replaced with a reconditioned unit in 3 days. All seems OK now. _________________ Nick Russell
