I posted that the V9 upgrade would cost £45 even if you bought your Quest after it's release date. That does not now seem true although my information came from Garmin themselves.

I recently registered a Quest 1 that i bought back in December and shortly afterwards recieved an e-mail to upgrade the mapping. I went to the garmin site, put in my serial number etc and hey presto, V9 mapping on the way - free of charge.

Just gotta wait for it to arrive now.

Has anyone recieved version 9 yet? (non NT)

Everyone gets the disk free, it's the unlock code that costs. If the unit was purchased new on or after 1st Sept 2006 and the unlock should also be free.

I realise that bumpkin, but when I last spoke to Garmin late last year I was told that V9 would not be a free upgrade no matter when you buy your Quest. Seems they told me a few untruths.

Have you had V9 yet? I'm off to Spain in April and would like to get V9 before then as V9 now has full Spain coverage.
