Can anyone say whether or not destinator supports a 240x240 res screen.
Specifically I am using a Treo 750v (WM5) at 240 res.

OK ,, Ive answered my own question here but it may help someone else who is considering using Destinator 6.

Here is the reply I recieved from Destinator Support when I asked about 240x240 screen res compatability.

"It is true that the Palm Treo 750v (WM5) from Vodaphone is not compatible with Destinator 6 Software.
For the moment we have no information if there will be a patch to fix this.
For further information about compatibility, you can visit our website: www.destinatortechnologies.com."

D6 can be used with 240x240 if you exchange the \DestinatorApps\Destinator\Skin\All\Destinator.inf with the one from this post: http://forum.pocketnavigation.de/thread.php?postid=1403091#post1403091

If you use another skin, then the inf has to be changed in this skin-folder.

Looks interesting,,, problem is,,, do I want to buy some software knowing that I will have to patch it to make it usable,, I am probably better off purchasing something that the manufacturer already has support for.

To my mind it is destinators loss not mine, if there are other companies that have software that is usable straight from the box, Then the makers of Destinator really cannot be suprised if people go elsewhere.

Thanks for the link anyway.

Markcoopz has just summed up everything that is wrong with Destinator. Such a shame that an almost unbeatable app can be let down by a few sloppy approaches to making it useable. And now that European mapping is affordable from all suppliers, Destinator has lost the edge it had over the competition 18months ago.

Shame.

YEah,

Small niggly things that stop this being a great product.

Mind you, I am still going to keep using it as I find it easier than TomTOm when I change my phone.

I have a full TomTom 5 that I refuse to send in the details that they ask for on principle. They allow you to buy services, but question you when you want something they dont charge for.

Destinator trusts and therefore values it's customers a bit more, and I like that.

True. I've done a fair bit of destinator-bashing in this forum due to the frustration of it being almost brilliant but i support of your point take a look here!
