While in Frinton, on the Essex coast, this afternoon I was amazed to see over 70 traffic problems in Belgium. Navigon v5.2.6 had no maps of Belgium loaded so where did the coded come from?

By the way, it would not lock onto any UK FM station. They were probably all too weak. Has anyone else picked up any foreign TMC signals in the UK?

I think your tmc code might have come from belgium. Just a guess. Rolling Eyes

But seriously, I got the French Auto route FM in Folkstone. Just shows the transmitter power levels they use. Sad

I live in Dover; we can pick up French radio stations easily and clear.
If you go along the coast towards Deal there is a small village called St. Margaret’s on the cliff tops where your mobile phone will change to French networks as you enter the village, all calls in or out are via France, this includes the extra phone charge to both the called and the caller.

Yes, I work at Langdon Battery (on the cliff-top near Dover).
I had to have international roaming disabled on my telephone. Everytime I walk from the west end to the east end of the building where I work, my mobiles screen flashes a "Welcome to France" message.

You must get some terrific views (and weather) from the Coastguard Station, one of the best spots in the country.

If you ever get the chance, try Desperados beer.
It's tequila flavoured and surprisingly brewed in France. Only available in this country via mail order from certain suppliers and a few restaurants or from France.

Really worth trying.
