I have a tomtom go 300 with V6.520
I have installed POI capture and have captured a new camera. When i try to open the ov2 file in PoiEdit or upload it to pocketgps new camera it says it is an invalid ov2 file.
Any ideas why? Confused

POIedit cannot handle our extended POI descriptions. POIedit is not required for our process.

Ibendlin, thanks for the information regarding POIEdit, but i still have a problem.
Just to clarify:-
I have a GO 300 using V6.530 and latest maps.
I have installed POI Capture for my model from here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/poicapture-tomtom-go.php
The one i downloaded is:-

TomTom GO / Rider / ONE 5.440 and later
POICapture Add on

It installed ok and i captured a new camera and everything went well and the new camera comes up on my Go when i approach it etc.
If i try to upload the ov2 file here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/poicapture.php it comes up with an error message - not a valid POI file.

If everything works on the Go and the new camera position is logged and comes up on the map when i approach why am i getting this error message?
HELP!!!!!

because you have changed the structure of the file by opening it with POIedit. Send it as an attachment to the cameras email address. In the future try not to use POIedit on them.

How can merely trying to open a file change its structure?

Also, shouldn't you tell people that you are using a non-standard ov2 format?

Ibendlin,
I deleted the POI catagory "PocketGPScameras" from my Go therefore deleting the corrupt ov2 file. I then captured the new camera once again and attempted to upload here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/poicapture.php
Once again i got the message

"Unrecognized record type 122 ! (Not a proper POI
file?)"
This was straight from the GO without trying to open it with POIEdit like you stated.
Why is this error occuring Sad

You should be uploading here:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras Confused

Use the Blue Section.

Email me the offending OV2 file. Also report your application version.
