Just unwrapped my shiny new TT910 and I have a couple of questions -

I have clicked it into the windshield mount as per the installation pictures, however I can't see how to get it out again. I have tried reversing the motion of clicking it in but don't want to use undue force in case I am missing something I have to press.

Secondly, I specifically bought the 910 for its ability to play MP3s. However, what I really want to listen to are podcasts with chapters. The MP3 support is aimed at music and doesn't have a facility skip forward a chapter, and the audiobook support seems to require you to download proprietary content from audible.com. Dos anyone know if it is possible to convert a regular MP3 into a .AA file as used by Audible ?

Tony

Haven't seen one to confirm but....

can you see a button in centre top of screen that juts out a little?
If so, it's exactly like my 710 and you sort of push this button and use an upwards rolling motion ( like you're turning it over towards your windscreen ).

It is a tight/snug fit so please go easy.
Don't force it, just keep trying until it comes away.
There is definately a knack ( as my 710 has proven ).

BTW have you made a backup of your 910 yet?
This is top of the TO-DO list..........

The button on the front top is for the windscreen mount only, it is not used or required for the docking base.

Coo, so easy when you know how, thanks everyone. Good job I didn't persevere and force it - why on earth isn't that in those stupid installation instructions without any words on them.

Can anyone help me with the audiobook stuff ?

Hi TonyD....from site relating to Sound & Audio Engineering:-
Quote:
...'No sadly you can not currently convert .mp3 to .aa

Unfortunately, at the moment, the Holy Grail of codecs is encode in .aa ( i.e. TO the .aa format ). Current s/ware converts FROM .aa to mp3, etc...
Quote:
convert your .mp3 to Apple's AAC (.M4a) Format.
Using Windows File Explorer, change that extension to .M4b
That'll enable iTunes Bookmarking feature

You can approximate .aa format for use on with iTunes & iPod. Other than that, at present, Sorry but No.
