Sounds like it is now safe to upgrade to D3 - but I can't find a reseller in the UK that does an upgrade from D2 to D3. The PowerLOC website strongly advises buying it from them and suggests you go to your local reseller, the three I have contacted all say they don't do it.

I might wait till after Christmas to make sure there is some chance of getting the most up-to-date version (plus have some money around for the rather expensive upgrade).

I would wait if I were you - the current version can't handle roundabouts in the UK, the routing is iffy, and there are a few bugs. It's lacking a few features compared with some of the other products as well. I'm reserving final judgement until I see that they've addressed the main issues - the price complete with Euro maps makes it worth a second chance. However, until they've sorted out roundabouts and routing, it's worthless in the UK.
