The time on my TT One won't keep it's setting. Nearly every time I turn the unit on, the time is incorrect. Sometimes it reverted to GMT (as per GPS time), other times it's completely incorrect.
Has anybody else experienced this, and if so is there a cure?

I've had exactly the same problem - seems to occur when battery power is low (but not zero), although occasionally with a full battery

I had this problem but it seems to have disappeared since I upgraded to 6.15.

Well I've upgraded to v6.15 and it still happens at apparently random intervals on my Tom Tom 500.
I've been searching the forums for a possible answer, but not found a definite reason yet.
At first I wondered if it was when you had "Remember Where I Left Off" ticked, for "Boot Up Options", and setting a "Time of Arrival" and had a route set, before turning it off with the route still in, and then turning it on again and the Clock "remembering" where it was when you turned it off.
But on further investigation that doesn't seem to be the case.

I wonder where the memory card is getting slightly dislodged while in the case, and possibly "resetting" things?

I don't seem to remember this "Time" problem before upgrading to v6.15.
Now, v6.15 has the option, after setting a route, of asking you if you need to "Arrive before a particular time". I've used this quite a bit this week, and my time has been playing silly Bs.
But the last two weeks I was on holiday, and was running aroung my local area looking for speed cam positions. While doing this I didn't have a route entered, (or time of arrival), and the clock was keeping good time, as far as I can remember.
Can anyone else test this, or verify this to be the case?

had same prob with my tomtom ONE. ended up disabling the time being displayed on the screen because it annoyed me all the time. however since upgrading to 6.150 time has been fine. i thought it was a malfunction of the clock or battery settings in my unit but this apparently shows it to have been a software issue.

I have received this answer from Tom Tom Support, after tackling them about the Time Keeping issue

Dear Mr Bane,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Make sure the very latest software version is installed on the SD card/hard drive!
For both the new GO Series as well as the older devices it would be version 6.xxx
Please then do the following to rectify the problem
Reset the device to factory setting (via change preferences menu)
Reset the device with a paperclip and hold for at least 10 seconds
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for at least 10 seconds
A screen with system information appears.
The time at the bottom (RTC) should be starting from 00:00:00 again.
If not, the reset button was not pushed in for 10 seconds.
Once you release the button, the device will load the application
Go outside where you have a GPS signal
Go to 'change preferences, set clock'
Press 'sync'
In case the time is not entirely correct, change it manually
Press 'Done' to exit the menu
Turn the device off
Next time you turn on the device the clock should still be correct (or will
automatically correct itself once you have a GPS signal again)
We hope to have answered your question
Should you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know.
Kind regards,
TomTom Customer Support Team.

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It all sounds a bit like a stock answer. But who knows. Might be as simple as that.

I also resolved the problem (it seems) by another method. I disabled the option for being asked if I want to arrive at a certain time............

So much for the TomTom detailed instructions for remedying the time keeping problem.
I followed the instructions, to the letter, and the next time I turned my TomTom 500 on it was 1 hour 45 minutes out!
And that's after unselecting the "Asking for an arrival time" option.

Any other ideas TomTom?

Since I disabled the 'Ask Arrival Time' option, my TomTom One has kept perfect time. Thats about 10 days now.
However it may be that I did something else as well which was seemingly unconnected.

I have to reset the time each time I turn on my nearly new TOMTOM GO 510. But also I have to reset the country, miles/km, everything you usually set at the very beginning and dont have to do again.
It is becoming a real pain.
