I can't get a signal at all on a steetpilot i3 which has just been updated, it has worked fine before. I have tried the reset without success.

Assume you mean you've just updated the firmware to 3.10. Other posts on the forum recommend version 2.70 for better sat locks. Try rolling back.

How long have you left it to get a signal. It can take time (~20 minutes) after a firmware update.

How does one roll back the firmware in i3. as suggested by mk_graham? can the 2.70 firmware be had on any known site? or does it need to be on the machine already from a previous update?
