I've got ipaq 6365 (combined phone pda) and smartST v2 and holux bluetooth receiver 236slim.
Everything's working fine, but when i finish the trip and get out of the car i turn off my pda (gps is of course still running in the car with battery), then when i finish eating and come back to my car and turn the pda back on, then restart the bluetooth connection fresh, then come back to smartst screen, i just cannot seem to reopen the gps port.. This is really annoying because if I "exit" the application from the map screen, then try to restart the program, I can't even start the program again.

I'm asking this because I faintly remember when I first used this program I was actually able to reopen gps port without soft reset.

do you know a solution, i mean if i have to i guess i can keep soft resetting every time i turn my pda off, but it just is a nuisance..

can you please mail back to me on youngchul76@hotmail.com, and if no one knows i will ring up navman on monday and ask them i guess

thanks for reading my message..

All I can say is I have an iPaq 3970 which I've been using for years but I always do a soft reset both before and after using SmartST. My experience is that without the reset it will not pick up a signal or whatever I use afterwards won't work, eg., ActivSync tells me I have components that are out of date - which could be true at my age ;-)
