I noticed recently that my clock was way off so i changed it to the correct time.
It then happend again, so i changed it back again.
then today i was on my way to a job expecting to arrive by 7.30 and the tomtom then says im gonna arrive at 20:40?, it seemed to jump forward 11 hours odd????

Ive tried resetting manually and synching but it still seems to have a mind of its own?

Any help much appreciated

Paul

Hi Badshot
On my TT One I found you have to have a HOME location registered or the unit was set to UTC. You do not say where you are but this may be the problem.

Oddly enough mine did exactly the same thing at the same time this morning 8O

Its a Go #Classic and I had it for two years - never done that before

As I understand it, TT's implimentation of Time Keeping is still a bit flaky.

Mine goes off the rails about once a month.Smile

So does my Tom Tom 500 at apparently random intervals. I've posted about it in another related topic in this forum. I'm slightly relieved to discover that's it's not just mine.
Not found an explanation yet.

If I take it off the mount before switching it off, it seems to be ok.

Will keep testing.

Admitedly this is a x10 model (TTG510), but maybe worth testing on the x00 models.

Hmm... I'm unable to switch my TT off when it's attached to the car mount - TT did something so it just switches back on immediately.

Yup my Classic with ver 6.15 changes the time whenever it feels like it !

Sometimes even pressing sync will not change the time and it has to be set manually.

I'm glad it's not only my unit that is doing it.

don't seem to remember this "Time" problem before upgrading to v6.15.
Now, v6.15 has the option, after setting a route, of asking you if you need to "Arrive before a particular time". I've used this quite a bit this week, and my time has been playing silly Bs.
But the last two weeks I was on holiday, and was running aroung my local area looking for speed cam positions. While doing this I didn't have a route entered, (or time of arrival), and the clock was keeping good time, as far as I can remember.
Can anyone else test this, or verify this to be the case?

I have received this answer from Tom Tom Support, after tackling them about the Time Keeping issue

Dear Mr Bane,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Make sure the very latest software version is installed on the SD card/hard drive!
For both the new GO Series as well as the older devices it would be version 6.xxx
Please then do the following to rectify the problem
Reset the device to factory setting (via change preferences menu)
Reset the device with a paperclip and hold for at least 10 seconds
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for at least 10 seconds
A screen with system information appears.
The time at the bottom (RTC) should be starting from 00:00:00 again.
If not, the reset button was not pushed in for 10 seconds.
Once you release the button, the device will load the application
Go outside where you have a GPS signal
Go to 'change preferences, set clock'
Press 'sync'
In case the time is not entirely correct, change it manually
Press 'Done' to exit the menu
Turn the device off
Next time you turn on the device the clock should still be correct (or will
automatically correct itself once you have a GPS signal again)
We hope to have answered your question
Should you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know.
Kind regards,
TomTom Customer Support Team.

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It all sounds a bit like a stock answer. But who knows. Might be as simple as that.

So much for the TomTom detailed instructions for remedying the time keeping problem.
I followed the instructions, to the letter, and the next time I turned my TomTom 500 on it was 1 hour 45 minutes out!
And that's after unselecting the "Asking for an arrival time" option.

Any other ideas TomTom?
