I spent a lot of time (and money) trying to sort out the audio on my Rider. I bought a special lead from Autocom which was supposed to match the TomTom Bluetooth to the Autocom unit - apparently you can't just use a connecting lead - it needs an isolation transformer or something. Although the incoming sound (to my helmet speakers from phone and Rider) was OK, the outgoing sound (from the mic) is useless - no one can hear me when I'm on the phone. Autocom said it wasn't possible to improve on it as the TomTom Bluetooth unit doesn't have enough power.

What I don't understand is, the microphone signal is put out by the Autocom unit which then drives the TomTom Bluetooth. Why can't the Autocom unit produce sufficient current to make audible outgoing sound through the Rider.

Has anyone found a good alternative to connect the Rider to an Autocom installation?

Autocom's advice was to "have an additional lead for the phone and don't run it though the Rider, or return the lead and buy a Garmin 2820" but at over £600 that just isn't practical - especially when I've now bought the Rider. It would be cheaper to take out the Autocom and buy another intercom system.

Any other Bluetooth connection devices been tried with Autocom?

This problem with tomTom Bluetooth is enough to make the Rider very unattractive - why would I want to have a seperate connection for the phone and the Rider (plus another one for my iPod) and then not be able to use the Rider screen to manage the phone calls. 3 leads for a bluetooth solution just ain't right!
