Mis-fire:

Ash10 - did you see my post about the QUIT button? This i believe is the problem and the Space / No Space is a Red Herring....

If you QUIT CM at anytime then the auto start registry entry is removed until you run CM again, so if like me like CM to run and then hit QUIT to close it it won't auto start next time.

No I didn't use the quit button. It was running in the system tray when I closed down windows!

Interesting! Mine works fine with the space but i used Registry Monitoring software to confirm that hitting Quit definitely deletes the auto start entry in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Letting Windows shut down with the CM running in the tray restarts CM fine no matter how many spaces i put in the path to the software!!!

Sorry Paul, I thought of that and it still does not work. I'm not sure exactly which incarnation of XP it is (I'm running SP2), but it requires entries in the registry with spaces to be in quotes. I have manually changed it to make sure it works and it does.

Most bizarre. I'm running Win Pro SP2 and it works on start up every time without tinkering with the registry. Unless it hit Quit. In qhich case the entry is removed and obviously CM doesn't restart.

I've Quit CM and confirmed the start up entry is missing. I'll move CM to a folder as follows...

C:\A B C\C M.exe

Note spaces in the folder name and the file name.

I've run CM and it's generated the start up entry, as soon as i've posted this i'll reboot with CM still running in the Sys Tray.

Well WITH spaces in the folder names and the file name and without hitting Quit and with NO Registry tinkering or editing it fired up on restart and is running in the Sys Tray without having to do anything.

I hit Quit and sure enough the Registry entry disappears.....

Ash10 - i hope this is all of some use!!!

That's the intended behaviour - when you run CM, it stays running (even through a restart) until you explicitly quit it. It's designed to stay running in the background all the time, rather than be repeatedly run and then quit.

v1.0.0.2 beta is now available!

1. Auto-reload feature is fixed. Definately. Probably. You tell me... ;)

So how often does it check for database updates?

Camera Manager doesn't just sit there, oh no! Once a day, it checks to see if there is an update available to the PocketGPSWorld.com speed camera database.

Once a day!!!

If it was once an hour i would understand the need to have it running all the time but ONCE a day? As most PCs will be switched off and on once a day does the application need to run all the time? Why not just have it check on start up and then close down if their is no update?

If i do Quit the application what's the advantage of having it remove the start up regsitry entry? It means if i need to kill the app at any time then i loose the auto start function. What if i want to kill the app but have it auto start next time?
