PS:

I believe there's a work-around for the Activesync problem. Do don't need to dock your PDA. Just open Memory-Map and select the part of the map you want to send to your PDA and choose the "Send Map to PDA" option, then open Windows Explorer, and, if you're using Windows XP, navigate to \documents and Settings\(Your profile)\Temp\ and you'll find the converted map .qct and .qed there. Just copy and paste them elsewhere, alt-tab back to Memory-Map and cancel the copy. Then use ActiveSync or a flash card reader to manually copy the files to the /qct fiolder on the PDA. You can do the same with the placename data too.

I was just about to buy Memory Map Navigator 2004 for the whole of the UK and I rang them up to ask a few questions before I placed my order. They informed me that they would be releasing 1:25,000 and aerial photography maps of England and Wales early next year. I was also told I would be able to select the areas I wanted, but this was not clarified.

The big problem I have with the maps at the moment is that the places I want covered all seem to be on boundaries between maps. eg the London area, the Roman Wall and the Norfolk Broads.

I have found a workaround for this problem!!!!

1. Disconnect PDA

2. Using Taskmanager shutdown wcescomm.exe and WCESMgr.exe then move Rapi.dll out of the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

3. Start Memory Map

4. Move Rapi.dll back into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder

5. Restart Activesync

My setup is XP SP2, Memory Map 3.1.6, Windows Mobile 5.

Unfortunately it seems I cannot send maps to the PDA but at least my £200 worth of Memory Map software & maps is useable again, now can someone write this into the startup file of Memory Map 3.1.6!!
