C320/330 V8 Western Europe Upgrade

Anyone heard anymore about the v8 upgrade for 320,330.One GPS dealer I know is selling 320 with v8 NT Europe mapping so it cant be far away.Last I heard from Garmin it was due end April.

Unfortunately the StreetPilot C320/C330 update DVD has been delayed, we anticipate that shipping will commence at the end of the June.

The C310 has had V8 for some time, People are using this on the C320 so why is the C320/C330 version so Late? The release date seems to be moving back. First April then May & now June.

got my updated v8 maps on disc from garmin in the post today.

So if you have registered they should be on there way

Received mine as well this morning, however tried to unlock them but unsuccessful.

Spoke to Garmin Europe and told that the website for this will not be active until Saturday (17 Jun)

If anyone does have success, please post here!

no joy in unlocking either, tried the code which came with the unit when i bought it but this only seemed to unlock v7, when i try for a new code it says i have already registered a unit. Any help? please

Bolloks innit? I got more codes than MI6, maps intsalled to computer but cant get them to the unit. I bin using GPS for years but this Streetpilot+maps is the most useless piece of **** I have ever come across. And I've bought stuff from Clive Sinclair! Confused

Received mine today, tried for hours to unlock then had brilliant idea of seeing how everybody else is getting on. Oh well will try again on Saturday, why send out the DVDs if the website is not programmed for them. Beats me.

Just been through the install again and got the following message from the Garbage unlock site,
"You are not eligible to update any units from the update disc for City Navigator Europe NT+ v8.02."
I bought the unit this year. Ho-hum, all good fun innit?
It do annoy me that Garbage assumes that customers have nothing better to do than spend hours faffing about with their useless shite. Evil or Very Mad

website now active, got my unlockcode for v8 maps, transferred the uk maps over now have full uk postcode search :D and v8 maps on the c320

You say you 'got my unlockcode for v8 maps'.

I still get to a page that requires a master coupon code. Could you or anyone who has completed the process successfully please detail the start web site and each link chosen?

(I started from http://www.garmin.com/unlock/, but hit the same problems when starting with the unlock wizard. Without an unlock code or coupon code I get nowhere.)

For all us completely frustrated folks who got our V8 update DVDs and go round in circles trying to figure out which fricking code it wants (tried reg code + 25 code from yellow sheet, tried loading from unit, tried regsitering on "myGarmin", you name it, I've tried it)...

Please, please, please could you post the steps that got you the unlock code.

Also, my C320 came with City Select Europe but I just received City *Navigator" V8 - so I am left wondering if this update is suposed to work for me - does anyone know ?

Still can not unlock the update maps, City Navigator is for the C320,C330 & I3. Can anyone help with unlocking this update.

i got it to work ok, what to do is you must register an account with "my garmin"

when done goto garmins website and go to the mapsource unlock page.
it will then redirect you to "my garmin" you then log in and you will see the details for the unit you have registered including unit id, serial no etc.

it then says please select a unit to proceed, click on your unit, it will then goto another page, you then scrool down to the bottom and you will see alot of boxes, go to the box "unlock update disk" click on this and follow the instructioms, you then will get a new unlock code(this will also be emailed to you).

make sure you have installed the original mapsource and the update disk on your pc.

Run mapsource you will see that v8 maps are locked for the moment.

- Press Ctrl-U
- Select 'ADD', then paste the unlock code into the space provided
- Select 'OK'
Now the MapSource region you chose is unlocked.

then install the uk maps as you would normally do and copy them over.
