Destinator 2/ ipaq switching off

I tried tomtom 2, but preferred the map data of d2 ( so i know i dont have this problem with tt2).

i'll be happily driving along, glance down and lo and behold its off again!! i have checked:

1. charger connections - all ok
2. that i havent got "switch off ipaq if not used for xxx minutes" selected - i havent.
