Have you tried putting the card in and doing a soft/hard reset? Any changes to any part of the program and it requires a reset before it will recognise the changes made. Someone else on the forum also had probs with their card, they reformatted to fat32 and hard reset and it worked ok.

Hope this helps.

i just tried both a hard and a soft reset, and neither has made any difference, when i start gnav10 with new card after reset, it shows a warning box2 "your current map UK_Ireland is erased or damaged! Replace the current map." i press ok, and its shows no maps found?

How did you load your map onto your new card?

If you did it in a card reader, delete it and install the uk map with your destinator console software and your card in the GNAV. Plug GNAV in via usb, open destinator console software, click the uk map, make sure your device is found in bottom right of window (if not search for your target). Then click on install map.

Let me know if that works or if you already tried it.

Try and format the card again then try and load maps again by plugging gnav into pc with card in it.

As for Look and feel I don't think a newer sofware version would do it. The GNAV device is not compatible with that part of the software. Is there anything in particular that you are trying to change (icons/ voices). There are ways of doing this but it would not be as easy as the look and feel option in the software. To be honest I don't think that the option would have been of mch use anyway as I can't see Destinator with a variety of skins to use (atleast not at the moment).

i have formated the new card 3 times, under drive g in my card reader, as gnav10 doesnt do formating, and my gnav10 just will not recognise that the card is there, but goes fine with the original card back in it? ive double checked both cards, via card reader and they are both Fat32, both show the same folders with the same map on both cards, but gnav10 just will not accept my new card. Look and feel was just to change voices really, so not the end of the world, as u say its nothing special! thanks for your help tho, cheers

Try to format your card in the DosBox:
format g: /fs:fat /a:16k

Go to start menu, click run, type "cmd" and then enter. Your command dos box should appear on desktop. You can also access it by going to accessories and click on the dos prompt.

As for the voices I did an instruction and links for programs to use tomtom voice packs on gnav10. Look here:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=33804

Let me know if you have any probs with the voices.

Try the format in dos. If this does not work, I read another post of someone else who reformatted. his card. I will try and find it so you can pm him to see what he did.

Just looked in the manual. The SD card should be formatted to FAT16/32.

my new card is reformatted in Fat32, both thru dos now , and windows, but it still takes maps on the card, but is not being recognised in gnav10, is it maybe a problem within the gnav10 itself?

More likely that there are hidden files on the original card that are not being copied across to the new card.

When you put your card in your reader and open it up, what is the first folder you see? - It should be DestinatorApps folder that contains a folder with uk and ireland maps.

You could try this out also - Put your original card (the one that works) in pc card reader and navigate to the drive (g I think you said yours was). Right click over the drive and click properties. Select the tools tab and then click on backup. Follow the wizard to backup the card. Then put in the new card; properties/tools/backup, this time using the restore in the wizard with the backup file you just created. This should then get all folders and files over to your new card.

If that does not work, you may wish to put your new card in the GNAV and try a reinstalation of destinator. This may put all the folder where they should be. Don't know if this will work or even effect the card, but it is worth a try. I just carried out a reinstallation to get all back to original status. Just plug in GNAV open Destinator console and click on the install software and follow instructions.

Good luck
