Hello I'd like to sync automatically (with poi place) but in the manual over here there is nothing about .asc files and there is only spoken about .ov2 (tomtom) files. I have a aldi navigator system which only uses .asc files. to convert them I use the POI editor you mention in your manual. I wonder If its possible to sync and convert at the same time with POI SYNC. Can you tell me something about the possibilities en the way how to do it. Thanks in advance

POI-Sync not free ? Dunno where you heard that from, it's still free and we'll never charge for it!

To synchronise with POIhandler requires registration and, in some cases, payment. The same is not true for the Pocket GPS service, which is free. Dave has just given another commitment that it will continue to be free.

Thanks for the update to the scamera poi dataase.

I am running tt2 and checkpPOInt 2.0.2.0 on my iPAQ2210.

However I am spotting a few red light camera and SPEC's camera location that are not noted.

I can update / add the red light ones, but I don't seem to have a specs option.

Am I missing a function, or is it not available yet.

Chris

Is it just me or is POI-Edit no longer available?

Trying to access http://www.dnote.nl/pda/poi/PoiEdit/ gives me a 404 Not Found error message.

It looks like Dave over at Dnote.nl is having some problems. I know he was moving hosting provider at some stage, it maybe that he's doing it now and that's why the whole site appears to be down.

The idea is sound but reading on it sounds like there are too many if's and unknowns, for the basic user like me, to be comfortable using it. Personally I will be more comfortable downloading the updated files and coying them across amnually unitl the bugs are ironed out.

Fantastic Service to provide! Well done Pocket GPS World!

For you Palm Tom Tom owners - it works :D

Use POI Edit to update database regularly then Cut and paste relevant OV2 and Bmp files into the particular map file on your SD card or Pda.

I dont think POI edit supports the straight to Palm PDA option - active sync only?

Correct me if Im wrong.

Excellent walk through, no problem, and works really well.

Would be nice to get tomtomfree.com added to the list.

Keep up the good work.
