Now I have said before not to use the update (unless it was for the Medion 95000), but a lot of people seem to have used it with success.

BUT, there units are Mio168 PDA clones, and the 175 is a dedicated GPS unit, it is TOTALLY DIFFERENT to the Mio168.

DON'T DO IT

Took a while to initialise on sats (10-15mins) but since then works a treat

I got tt5 on mine and had no bars showing but it navigated ok.From another post was recommended gps winfast monitor so i stuck that on and couldnt get the gps to work so ditched/uninstalled but funny enough after i uninstalled, the sat bars came up and started to work WEIRD!! Confused

Something very similar happened to me. However, I unistalled the winfast navigator after not getting it to work, and did a hard reset of the PDA. Installed TomTom and now I get blue satellities.

Can anyone explain this??

Possibly left behind some files (shared files) which is also being use by TTN5.

would like to have a copy of my original fw before i upgrade my micromaxx so if all goes wrong i can rewrite the old fw back. Is there anywhere i can get it from or any ideas.

If you download and run the firmware update, it will show you what version is on your Mio168. You don't have to update it if it is the same version as in the ReadMe.txt file with the firmware update.
