To quote "It is being developed by Domino's Pizza in collaboration with hi-tech navigation specialits at Navman UK. Domino's said trials could begin within six to 12 months.



How it works

1. Pizza firm takes order and keys address into computer. Transmitted via GPRS system to delivery driver's shoe.

2. GPS uses satellite tracking and information on shoe's memory card to find driver's location. Navigation system in shoe calculates best route.

3. Voice commands, giving precise directions, sent from transmitter in shoe to headset in driver's helmet"



Sorry, but I keep laughing to myself as I type this

No mention of picking up the pizza: perhaps the driver has a pizza making unit in his other shoe.



From the article it sounds as though Navman have a good address search. As a TomTom user it makes me very envious

From a technology perspective, it's possible. But can you see the spotty teenager wanting to change into some special trainers ?



You can see the excuses now for not getting your pizza ontime.... "Er, yeah [cough] the navigation software sent me the wrong way and took me 15 miles in the opposite direction"
