Does POICapture not work on 5.21? I know it says only 5.20 on the download page but didn't think there would be that much difference.
Lemme know so I can work out if I have a problem or not as when I press the capture icon on page 1 of the menu nothing happens

It works fine on my 5,21 install. You do need to have a valid GPS signal for it to record the location, if you hit the icon without this it won't record anything, it just displays an error message top RH of the navigator screen, given a GPS signal there are no problems - if it still won't work try a soft reset of the device, that sorted a similar problem on my Exec - Mike |

Ok - reinstalled everything with same problem, now found that POICapture will only work if installed in the default folder (I install everythingt o SD Card when I can tho have not yet worked out how to do this with the latest TT release)
now works, as in camera selection screen comes up, but then it crashed with "Reloading Map", tried again and it seemed to work ok but would like to move it off the Ipaqs memory. |

I'm sure that Lutz will jump in and help you, but if you edit the shortcut links then you can install POICapture wherever you want.
As for crashing, it did that to me on the first use. I have since used it several times with no problems. _________________ Tim |

I think I read somewhere that it need to be installed to the default directory 'cos I usually install to Sd card but didn't for this prog.
Seeing as lutz will probably read this thread, can you also answer another question.
When I choose to delete a camera using POI capture (ie, to notify you guys) I get a temporary camera in it's place. Is there a reason for this as it's a bloody pain getting two notifications (gatso & temp) when I know damn well that the cameras not there.
Sorry to semi-hijack your post, but I'm sure Lutz will answer both.

Will need some help if I am to change the install location as it 'appears' fine (launches using the program icon and the menu changes in TomTom) It just doesn't actually do anything. On the same topic can TT be installed elsewhere? I have told it to install the SD Card and most of the program still resides there but my free space has dropped by a couple of meg since installing the latest version.
Back to POICapture: Having reinstalled to default I have found it crashes when the first camera is recorded with the "Reloading Map" message. However you can actually exit out as the "X" application close icon appears in the corner. Checking the PocketGPSCameras.OV2 file shows that it has now been created but no camera exists yet (0 bytes), after that it works fine and I can add new cameras. Just seems the first time it doesn't work. Also you can only delete the file using the POICapture menu if POIs are turned of in TomTom.
Deleting cameras seems to be done by way of adding a camera location, I think you would have to manually remove it from either the POICapture OV2 file or the full database would need to be updated. Doubt there is any way round this unless you were able to delete the camera at the EXACT location it was added. |
