I'm one of the many who have picked up a £99 Pin from Halfords and am really pleased so far - massive bargain at that price. I have loaded memory-map onto it but can't get it to work with the GPS, can anyone point me torwards the correct GPS com port settings ofr this. If I use Navman and PiN as the manufacturer and modeloptiona all the port options are greyed out. I've tried NMEA as the manufacturer but still haven't found a port setting that works. Any suggestions?

Tyhanks in anticipation

You need to switch on the GPS before running up Memory Map, there are some instructions to be found HERE although the OP never came back to say if this actually worked or not! - Mike

Thanks for reply. I have GPS switched on - orange light blinking steadily - I get an error message in MM that is either "can't open Com Port" or "GPS connection timed out" depending on what settings I try. Any other thoughts?

Is your memory map product fully activated? the GPS option will remain greyed out if not.
Try the available com ports at a speed of 4800 then 9600 - I don't think the device will go any faster than this, Com2 seems to ring a bell but it is ages since I played with one of these units to be honest - Mike

reinstalled mm and checked licence fully activated, soft reset, start gps, start MM, set GPS to NMEA, Com8, 9600, go to GPS, Satellites and nothing showing, go to GPS, Mark Position and BINGO! Nice big red circle in the right place!

Not sure what has made the difference, possibly just the 'mark position' piece? but working ok now with these settings, although orange light continues to blink rather than go solid as per ST.

TY for suggestions
