Increasing the Voice Volume output on a C500 with TT Mob 5

Hi guys,

I am looking for a way of increasing the volume of the spoken route instructions on a C500 fitted with TomTom Mobile 5, either by using a extenal speaker in the head phone socket or some other means, I do not want to use headphones or anything like that, I realise that the socket on the supplied headset is fitted with 3 point connection but do not know which is for the headphones and which is for the mic. Any assistance would be appreciated. If I have posted in the wrong forum or the subject has be dealt with before, please accept my apologies.
