I recently bought a Blaupunkt Travelpilot E1.

However its not a unit I use every day, when I actually need to use the unit it reads my position as being incorrect, and tells me to turn well after I actually needed to.

After a bit of investigation it turns out I need to calibrate the unit every time I use it, as you can imagine this can get a bit frustrating!

Any ideas or is this the norm?
Thanks in advance

The unit is connected to the battery permenatly, and is also connected to the switched live. (ignition).

Might help you guys if I give you a bit of background Embarassed

Its a 1999 Renault laguna, with a speedo sense cable fitted from the factory.

I've added the blaupunkt as a second head unit, with connections to:
The battery
Switched live(ignition)
Ground
speedo sense
A speaker mounted near the fuse box as per the computer speaker fitted on higher models.
The GPS aerial
