ipaq 3870 bluetooth not seen

I cannot see the GPSmart from my ipaq 3870. I see my phone but not the GPS any ideas?

Have you set the passkey correctly on your iPAQ to match the GPSmart's passkey ?

I think i may well be missing a whole country full of stuff here!

So far i have

1. installed tom tom on ipaq

2. turned on GPSmart and acquired satellites

3. gone to ipaq bluetooth manager and "searched" for bluetooth devices, of which only my phone is found.



What dumb things haven't i done?

Firstly, I presume your GPSmart is the Bluetooth model - there is also a non-Bluetooth model.



If it is, then the next stage is to discover the GPSmart and pair it. It sounds like there's some configuration needed on the GPSmart - you will need to make sure the GPSmart's Bluetooth is on and you know the passkey. I can't walk you through the precise steps as I don't have a GPSmart myself!





You should then be able to pair the GPSmart in the Bluetooth manager, and configure it as your GPS in the TomTom GPS driver.

Thanks, but there isn't anything to set up on the GPS. Oh well support phone call i guess monday, to Globalpostioningsystems.co.uk....

There's a menu on the GPS where you have to turn Bluetooth on. It is not on by default.

We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
Have you considered making a donation towards website running costs?.
