I have a mio 168 with Memory Map 2004 plus TTN5 and I must say it is and always has been 100 percent perfection.

But one thing that you have to do which is a MUST, is when you exit M/Map you MUST exit via (MENU EXIT) which is down the bottom left corner of M/Map screen, if you don't do this, you will find that it is still running in the background which in turn slows up or locks up TTN3 or 5.

I have done this on my old Ipaq and the Mio 168 running both M/Map and TTN3 and TTN5 and belive me it works.

The other thing to do from time to time is to go START/SETTINGS/SYSTEM/MEMORY/RUNNING PROGRAMS and check what you have running in the background as a PDA is not like a PC and it tends to leave things running in the background, I am sure if you get into the habit of checking this on a regular basis your PDA will run smoothly.

I hope this helps :D

I am thinking of buying a Mio with navigation for use in motorhome and then with M-M for hill walking.
Is it the best around for this would you say?
What is the battery life like on the hills?
What size cards will do the job?
Is the screen OK in bright sunlight?

Anything else I should consider as a complete novice to GPS?

Best wishes

Alan

Berghaus if your interested in this shortcut, create a new text document on your desktop, call it Running Programs.txt then open it and add the following line;

22#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4,2

DO NOT do a return after the line, just save it as below.

Now save the file by using Save As, and save as Running Programs.lnk

Now Right Click the file, and select Copy.

Now Explore to your PDA via ActiveSync, My Pocket PC - then to Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder

then Paste the file to the Programs folder.

You can then close ActiveSync if you want, and on your Pocket PC go to Start - Settings - Menu Icon - then select Running Programs, it will then be available via the Start menu.

The files you created on your main pc desktop can now be deleted.
