Want to buy a system, currently trialling

Hi



Ive got an XDA and at the moment Ive got a free trial of Kane gear car piot, plus speed minder and email voice reader etc.



As im new to all this im finding it very impressive. I will have the option to purchase the unit at less than RRP or I can return it.



Is there a clear leader in the field, a recognised best system?



Should I stick with kane or are there many other systems on the market that are seen as superior?



It has Destinator version 2.06 on



Ive been looking around and the Kane system seems more expensive than say tomtom, is there a reason for this?

It depends really what you're looking at. For the XDA most people prefer TomTom Navigator with a speed minder add-on. Destinator and also with Kane, is usually quite a lot more than others, partly due to using NavTech maps which are more expensive over TeleAtlas.



The main problem with Destinator is that you have to load different segment maps when navigating around the UK, where as nearly all other systems have one complete map making it easy to navigate from A to B without having to create shorter journeys or change maps so frequently.
