Hi, I am trying to decide if I should get this unit, but not sure if it would suit my application. I want to leave the GPS permanently wired in my car and wanted to know if it will stay on regardless of bluetooth connection.

I was all set to go for the Globalsat BT338, but it seems as though it switches off if bluetooth connection is lost.

Maybe I worded my previous post/question incorrectly:

Can anyone who currently owns a Fortuna Slim confirm that the unit stays on regardless of bluetooth connection status?.

And another question:

I want to wire the GPS permanently in my car out of sight and immediate reach. Ideally I would like to leave the unit switched on and have power supplied but my car ignition. Would removing power, then resupplying it, necessitate manually switching the unit on?

In case anyone else was wanted to know, yes, the unit stays on regardless of bluetooth connection.

Haven't hard wired it in my car (only got it today) so I can't answer my second question just yet.

Nice choice of unit by the way :-)

I have had mine wired up in the car with no battery in it, seems to work fine! The same worked with the clip on!

Happy navigating
