Hi Guys,

just a quick query as to the process you follow - I submitted 5 new camera locations to you via email and had an error email back today (shown at bottom)

I also have another couple of cameras to send it - would it be possible to notify that you have recieved them and incoporated into the databse other wise it means we need to check our version against any new ones.

another quick point - there are multiple cameras showing for the m4 where it goes into london eg 3 icons showing for every one camera.

Cheers

Stuart

The error is due to Orange's email service failing yet again It will arrive eventually but if delivery fails you will be notified. We don't have an auto-responder set up for the camera submission address but we will look into the possibility of doing this. As for the M4 camera duplication, I will look into this, we do run filters to remove duplicates within a set radius and I have driven that stretch recently and didn't notice the duplicates but will double check. We do work hard to ensure the accuracy of the database and only last week I have amended the M25 A3-M40 section as we have had every gantry submitted as a camera site, although the variable speed limit enforcement section is in operation here, there are not cameras on every gantry so we have driven the route and removed the erronous cameras, these will be released in the next update.

Hi Darren

Carrying on from the original heading in this post, I am a newbie to GPS and the forum but have already sent quite a few new camera sites here in Essex in to the address given, but I know not how to submit the ov2 file or how to fiddle with the file system on mt PDA as yet, but I have submitted the positions as Long/Lat references , is this OK ?

Best regards David

We will happily accept submissions in any format you have but where possible the .ov2 is easiest for us. It's not a problem if this is the whole database inclusing the new sites you have recorded or just the new sites as we run standard checks and remove duplicates automatically. But as I said, Lat/Lon is fine if that's what you are most comfortable with. And I should add a big thank you to all of you who make submissions, they are still rolling in and help make our database the best and most accurate that is available
