Long Fuses?

Does anybody know where I can obtain replacement fuses for the tomtom y-cables... They claim to be motoring fuses, but the one in my local motorfactor are longer than house hold fuses, but still not as long as those used in the tomtom?

By houshold fuses i assume you are refering to the type that fit in a normal 13A plug, then yes there is a difference between mains fuses, and 'motoring fuses'

For a start there is no uniform standard as to what type of fuse is used in vehicles, its up to the manufacturers choice, although 'blade' Fuses are becoming the common type on most modern vehicles, which come in a choice of 3 diffrent sizes each offering a range of amperages.

As a guess, it sounds like you need a glass fuse (as opposed to ceramic) which are fairly standard.

Dont go to halfrauds you'll be ripped off, and the staff are all half wits with no knowledge of cars beyond which stereo is the loudest, and which set of alloys are popular with the chavs at the moment. Instead take a trip to your local maplins where they offer a wide selection of fuses in various amperages at competitive prices. Alternartively, find out if you have a lucas dealers nearby, and they'll almost certainly have exactly what you want.
