Camera Partnerships

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been covered or not, couldn't find any similar threads.

On the regional camera partnership websites they include timetables for locations of mobile sites as well as fixed cams.

Has anyone ever looked at including any of that sort of data, not sure if it would be workable or not, just seemed like a potentially useful heads up.

I wonder if the Cyclops system use this data, they label mobiles as zones rather than exact locations.

Any thoughts??

Good thinking BUT... The majority of SCP websites are so inaccurate and out of date that they can't be relied upon. I have yet to find one which is useful. The timetables invariably say they'll be "there" and "may operate elsewhere", so not much value. As for zones, we prefer to mark actual locations where cameras have been seen in operation, as most zones are quite lengthy and you'd need a continuous warning for ages.

Thornton Road near me is about 8 miles long. It has 7 or 8 regular mobile camera sites. The SCP site says there will be a mobile camera on Thornton Road... It's just not accurate enough!
