Getting new Legacy with SatNav.

Now how do I get the latest maps?

I want NavTech because they are way ahead of TeleAtlas for Ireland.

But on NavTech's site Subaru is not listed (it's the same on TeleAtlas' site).

But if I enter the map error report page on NavTech's site it DOES give me an option to report errors for Subaru's Denso (I presume they are an OEM) SatNav system on the new Legacy and Forester cars.

So do NavTech do maps for Subaru or not?

Sorted it out.

The '05 Legacy uses the Kenwood KNA-DV 3200 drive and has the December 2004 Map DVD KNA-MP324A.

I just don't know if it uses Navteq or Teleatlas telematics.

hi there
You may have found out by now which manufacturer makes the DVD maps for the Kenwood DV3200, but if not :they are made by navteq.

Does anyone know if the same applies to a 2005 Forester XT? Does it also have the KNA-DV3200 gps nav system? I own this car and try to find map coverage for Greece where i live. The car came with map ver .1 2003. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's the exact same OEM SatNav.

I think that Greeece is still not mapped to any great extent and is not on the Subaru DVD.

Thanks for the prompt answer. I also have another question. Will the KNA-MP324 map that is being sold by Kenwood do for my navsat system or should i refer to a Subaru Dealer for a OEM specific map-software? As a Subaru owner should i be entitled to software updates or do i have to pay in order to get the latest map (even though it doesn't cover Greece)?

I don't see why not but Subaru does say that alien discs will damage the DVD drive.

All car manufactureres including Subaru charge for each new year's DVD; ranging in price from €200 - €400.

I will look more closely at my SatNav and see what if any coverage it has for Greece.

Thanks mate for your help! I am eager for your reply regarding map coverage. Did you buy this map from a Subaru dealer or from a Kenwood shop?

Thanks

Sorry no luck; the map coverage is from Italy up to the Nordic countries and right over to Ireland.

My set up is the OEM Subaru DVD drive and Subaru DVD.

NavTeq have mapped parts of Greece but it's up to Subaru to include the data on their DVD.
