Hi All

i received an 'Aldi Newsletter' via email last night offering a 'Personal navigation Assistant with integrated gps' for £229.

i checked the aldi website but its not mentioned there!

the gps receiver looks like the mitac mio 160 but the actual unit looks bigger and is working in landscape mode. (it could be a dedicated navigation system like TT GO) and it has a built in MP3 player.

* Voice output, coloured map and arrow navigation
* Satellite supported position sensor with distance indication and distance * bars for directional change
* TFT display with 65,536 colours
* Samsung 266MHz processor
* Built-in MP3 player
* Also includes in-car charger, car holder with suction cups, AC adaptor,
* wallet and earphones

sorry for the sketchy detailsbut its all i can gleen from the email.

anybody got any more information ?

Regards

The Pilgrim

It is a Medion MDPNA 200 and most likely has a version of Navigon's Navigator 4 branded as Medion Navigator.

So if it is a 're-branded' Medion MDPNA 200.... for £229.99 is it any good?
Or should I look at something from 'Halfords'? Confused

Bought one today and I am impressed. Turned it on in the car park, loaded the multimedia card, got a lock within a few minutes and away I went.
I use Tom Tom on a HP2110 and had both going today on various short journeys, the medion uses a text type input for address's not predictive but it was easy to do.
The built in GPS reciever was very good at getting a lock compared to the tom tom wired mouse which was picky about where it was installed in my Zafira. I just plonked the Medion on the passenger seat and it obtained a lock easilly.
Direction wise the unit was as good as the Tom Tom.
It is ideal for our use in that it is dedicated gps with no other real functions for our fitters to play with rather than working.
Recomended :D
