310 and PDA - best combination

Hi, I have a 310 and am thinking about buying a PDA and cable for street mapping (for car) and for topo maps (as I do a lot of walking).

I was wondering what recommendations people have on whatPDA/software to use ? E.g which is the easiest / most reliable set up.

I'd be grateful for any assistance.

After doing lots of research I think I am going to go with a Palm M500 / M505 and PathAway, anyone had any experience with this setup ?
