Hi

My new Holux GM270 doesn't communicate with my Acer 506T

laptop, OS is Win98SE. The laptop has only one PC-card slot, the slot is ok (using it for LAN every day). GM270 powers up fine, but the Holux driver and my laptops seems not to be working together.

Holux comes up as a COM5, and no conflict can be found.

The program GPS Viewer can not find the GM270.

Computer locks up when GPS Viewer try to communicate.

On another laptop using Win ME with 2 PC-Card slots it is no problem to use the GM270.

Can it be an IRQ conflict between the Holux driver and

the computer PCMCIA (PC-card) slot. Hmm,, what to do ??

Are there any other drivers that I can try ?

I did not find any info on Holux homepage.

Can I instead use the GM270 via an CF to USB adapter ?

Regards

Hakan

Hello...I'm new to this forum.

I recently acquire GM-270 for the PDA and it works great.

Now when I try to set it up in my Toshiba Sat Pro 4300 series Laptop, I am getting an error 0x000003E5.

I've had no luck in installing my GM-270 receiver to my Toshiba 4300 series Laptop running either Windows XP or Windows 2000.

First I followed the instruction to replace the INI file in the WINT4 directory with the one in the DOCS/MISC directory then run the Install serial program.

The driver was installed but the message show up that the service cannot be started - error 0x000003e5.

Checking the hardware device list shows a question mark on the device CF receiver.

I've tried many times with both Windows XP and Windows 2000 O/S and failed.

Please help............ I will go on a trip next month and would like to get this to work.

Thanks.
