MFD2 in VW Touran

I have just bought a VW Touran with the above system - looks flashy, but not a patch on Tom tom go, or IPaq runing TT3. Is there anyway of improving its functionality - ie addition of POI's, as in TT. I find it hard to believe you cant do it, as they both use Teleatlas maps.

You may well be able to add additional POIs by working out the format of the POI files and creating your own navigation CD (although many are copy protected, which may prevent this). However, unless there's some functionality within the unit to alert you to upcoming POIs, all you will ever be able to achieve is displaying the POIs on the screen.

Until the manufacturers offer support for speed camera POIs within the base unit, it'll never be very useful (and from I've read, this will come, but often only with a subscription to their own service).
