I want to buy the 2610 but I just read somewhere that that you can't use it with Windows XP Home Edition. You can only use it with Windows XP Professional Edition. Does anyone know if this is true or not.

Not true works with almost any windows version although I have not tested W95.

I have used Garmin's Mapsource with Windows 98, 2000 and XP (Professional) without any problems, though I have an older Garmin GPS-V unit.
I can't see why it would work with XP professional and not with XP home. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Like Skippy, I have a GPS V. I also have Que running on my iPAQ and I can confirm that I have Mapsource running on my Desktop PC (XP Home) and my Laptop (XP Pro) and haven't had a problem with either setup. _________________ Tim |

Thanks guys. I got the 2610 today and the install went perfect with XP home edition. I also downloaded the new 4.30 version from Garmin with no problem.
