Is there any way to retain the map view in TTN3 over 80MPH?

I find that if I travel at around 80MPH the TTN flickers between screens which can be quite off-putting. Ive looked for a setting but with no luck.

There is a setting "Safety Speed" I believe thats the one you need to change.

Hi SoundsAlarming,

Welcome to the forum. Thumbs Up

SHC is right, it sounds like your “Safety Speed” is set to 80mph.

To change it, go to: Properties | Navigation

The Safety speed is shown in a box in either kph or mph. You can change the value of the Safety speed in the box.

I hope that you’re not driving in the UK! 8O Laughing

Regards,

From a driver workload / visual clutter point of view, I keep my safety speed at 30mph. Beyond that, I find the map is really just visual clutter - my feeling is that you really should be concentrating on observation and your driving, not on a map.

Unlike earlier versions, Navigator 3 displays a junction map on the safety screen when you're getting close to a junction, assuming you don't disable the relevant option. I find this makes a faster safety speed unnecessary.

(Edited because I put 'slower' in the last sentence - which doesn't make sense!)

I have set my safety speed to 200 mph. I find the flicking in and out of the safety screen annoying (they could have built some hysteresis in). I tried navigating in safety screen only mode once, and I didn't really get on with it. I like to be able to see which way the road goes next, although obviously I don't rely on it when tanking on :D
