Just got my Nav 5 today and its installed perfectly.
Had a couple of lock-ups, just because the signal on my XDAIIi was lost. Has anyone else had the same problem???

Try rotating it to landscape view. The speed (and other info) is much larger

Just installed the upgrade travelled round London then back to Birmingham, the map and speed is a lot better going round islands works better.

Postcode now works ok, after i went back and found were to install it from

I did miss my checkpoint, but im hoping it will come soon please

Tried the traffic did not think much of it, but will give it a go.

all in all a thumbs up :D

I have upgraded to TTN5 on my Palm T3.

Everything seems to have installed correctly with the exception of the voices. I have no voices installed, not even 'Jane' and have 9.2Mb free space on my SD Card.

Does anyone know how to manually install voices on a T3? If I use the installer, everthing seems to be fine but I can't access any voices at all.

OK chaps,

I received my TT5 within one week of placing the order Smile

First impressions:

1. Interface - An improvement for "on the go driving". No more need to use the stylus as one had to in TT3 (most of the time).
2. On the route summary screen there is a big waste of space where your satellite info is. Also on the navigator screen, the blue information section is too big.
3. The rotate screen function is cool, but no good to be as my pda holder does not rotate Crying or Very sad

4. My EMTAC BT CRUX II works well with my IPAQ 3970. Even using the "Other BT" option in the configuration. This did however take time to setup!

OK the bad things..

5. The application is slower than TT5. Also sometimes it will run normally, other times it runs fine.
6. When you exit the application and then want to restart it TT5 will not restart. I have to do a soft reset! :x

I have yet to use it in anger, but will do today.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have read on some website that the new TomTom MKII GPS BT receiver is not compatiable with WAAS and EGNOS. Is this correct. This will mean that we will not be able to use the new European GPS satellites which are supposed to be more accurate than the current American GPS satellites.

I am using the EMTAC BT (SIRF 2) which is WAAS & EGNOS compatiable. Just need to know how to switch over to using this 'standard'.

WAAS and EGNOS have nothing to do with the European Galileo GPS Constellation.

WAAS & EGNOS is a method of using ground based stations to error correct poistion data via satellite. It allows a greater degree of posutional accuracy but is of little practical use for in car navigation, indeed SiRFStarIII is sufficiently accurate to make WAAS/EGNOS all but redundant for most uses aside from survey where high levels of accuracy are essential.

See here for a detailed explanation of EGNOS. WAAS is the US version of the same service.

EGNOS is till in the test phase and so cannot be relied upon anyway!

Just got my ttn5 upgrade. I use it on an HP6315 and it works fine.
It is a kind of a learning curve though. In ttn3 I found very usufull the tap and hold menu. In ttn5 I cannot easilly plan routes in advance. Also adding a POI is more tricky.
Also I got a Go700.
There is a detailed map of Athens Greece in the Go 700 that is missing from the map set of the PPC product.
Another think that I was waiting for was the integration of the phone with the software. I am not able to use my phone while in ttn5 and I have to exit from the programm since I cannot go to the start menu. I cann use the phone with the speed buttons but then the device is becoming a bit slow.
This is very annoying to me because everytime I need to make a call or use some other software on my PPC I have to shutdown the TTN5.
Also there is no commant to edit an existing POI. I guess the only way is to delete it and add it again.

hi every one
please excuse me if my question sounds daft but i have been using tt 3 for just over a year now (GB and major roads of europe) but i never needed to download europe maps.....I have just recieved the email for upgrade today and my question is if i buy the upgrade will i be getting any more detailed maps for europe or is it the same (ie major roads)...and what do they mean at tt website by the note that when you upgrade your region you dont need to update maps of western europe????...any advice will be appreciated

The upgrade gives you street level map data which is far more detailed than the Major Roads of Europe (MRE) mapset.

So when you upgrade you will get the latest product version and a set of CD's containing the street level maps for each country in Europe covered by the Maps of Western Europe (MOWE) mapset.

Hi All,

I got my TT5 upgrade and installed it on my Pocket Loox 600 (TT say it is not compatable). I did a full hard reset frst and did not reinstall TT3. I use a Fortuna Clip On BT GPS. It works fine and it recognised my BT GPS with no problems. I like it but I miss:
Being able to 'block' a road - Jane insists on taking me down a country lane ( Smile

) to get to a major road when there is a perfectly useable main road!
Being able to customise speeds
Being able to customise what appears on the menu but I suppose I will get used to it. Just need to get the full 7 digit postcode working properly.
