Hi, I hope someone might be able to help. I have recently aquired an XDA2i and a Furtuna GPS Clip-On receiver. I am trying to link the Clip-On to the XDA so that I can use it with Tomtom navigator 3 (Tomtom GPS 3.07). I have been able to establish a connection between the XDA and the Clip-On but, am still unable pick up any signal through TomTom GPS. I have the serial port set to "bluetooth serial port com5" which is the inbound com port for the XDA and I have tried "bluetooth serial port com6" also which is the outbound COM Port. I have the baud rate set as SiRF 38400 (as per the Clip-on's instruction manual) but have tried all others too just in case! I have spent about an hour on the phone with TomTom support but, to little avail. Any bright ideas??

Use "TomTom Wireless GPS" and your outgoing Bluetooth serial port. SiRF 38400 is for SiRF binary mode.

If you've got the Clip On stuck at an unknown speed or protocol, slide the mode switch, switch on, switch off, and slide the mode switch back again - that's usually enough to reset to NMEA 38400bps.

Still no go David.

Here's the process I followed..

1. Set up a bluetooth pairing:

From the bluetooth manager i selected new, then explore a bluetooth device, selected ClipOn-BTGPS, then selected the only service selection option which is SPP slave. I then went into tools, paired devices, added ClipOnBTGPS and entered the passkey. I then connected to the ClipOn.

2. Tried to configure TomTom GPS

Went into TomTom gps, gps tab, selected tomtom wireless gps and bluetooth serial port com6 (outgoing serial port)

The status indicator still shows no signal whatsoever..not black dots..

He's just confirming the settings I already gave. The problem is likely that the Clip On has got into a funny mode from the various settings you've tried.

Have you tried my reset idea, and did it work? If not, take out the battery, leave it out overnight and try again with the settings we've both given you - "TomTom Wireless GPS" and COM6.
