If you have used TomTom 3 or TomTom Mobile you will be aware of TomTom Traffic. You will probably also be aware that TomTom have a number of different voice files including a few comic ones. Well TomTom have consolidated this and added a lot more additional features and have created a new service called TomTom Plus.
TomTom Plus is an Internet based based service which will work with all the current TomTom software which is mobile phone enabled. This includes the new TomTom GO hardware, TomTom Rider, TomTom Mobile 5, TomTom Navigator 5 and presumably TomTom Navigator for Palm.
Essentially there are 3 sections to TomTom Plus: Download Extras (including speed cameras); TomTom Weather; and TomTom Traffic.

Map downloads are nice (if you can download via DSL at home !) but only if they're update regularly, doesn't sound like anyone's really ready for that at this point in the game. |

The actual map downloads that will be available will not be full region ones, but "city" maps. This will allow you to download a map of about 1Mb. Still a lot of data for a GPRS connection, but certainly do-able. _________________ Mike Barrett |

This is not clear at the moment, but my guess would be that it will create a seperate map directory and be a stand-alone map only allowing you to route within that mapping area. _________________ Mike Barrett |
